Inspection Reports
On demand, Tradex offers copies of quality inspection reports with each order. Using the inspection reports, Tradex customers can make fully informed decisions about offered fish, minimising potential hassles.Tradex commissions independant, third-party inspection professionals such as Surefish (go to Surefish website) to perform the inspections in North America. In major Chinese production markets, Tradex uses its own quality control technicians to conduct product inspections. In more remote locations, Tradex uses accredited third party inspectors.
Inspectors randomly select a sample of packed containers (e.g. boxes, cartons) from a lot and test for such criteria as:
- Temperature
- Net weight
- Glaze percentage
- Nemotodes (worms)
- Quality of pack arrangement
- Quality of glaze
- Conformity with stated sizes
- Quality of cutting
- Quality of evisceration
- Internal/external bruising
- External defects
- Quality of bleeding
- Flesh texture/colour
- Odour
